Further information on our Open Water Sessions
Open water skills is the last and probably most overlooked area of triathlon and open water swim coaching.
To balance this, Swim Smooth Wales addresses three main disciplines to maximise your swim performance
We call it the 3 Keys
Open Water skills is often the ‘Key’ that has less focus, especially for the triathlete.
Although we perform open water drills and practice in our pool sessions, it is so important to breach the gap between pool swimming and the open water environment!
For this reason, we offer World-Class Open Water Skills Sessions and Clinics (see our Group Clinics section for more details)
Skills taught include:
Adapting your stroke to conditions
And a whole lot more…..
New to the open water?
Learning how to swim effectively in open water when you are new to triathlon and/or open water swimming starts with developing your confidence in this strange new environment.
Even if you have been swimming for a while we can help you to increase your enjoyment and performance in open water. We will work with you to.
Put on your wetsuit correctly
Overcome any anxiety
Work on breathing techniques
Get you into cold water comfortably
WHERE WE MEET
We usually meet on Coney beach, or at the slip from where the RNLI launch
